Cima Undici – Normal Route (III)
Cima Undici is one of the most impressive peaks in the Dolomites of Sesto. The journey to the south summit offers a diverse experience, from climbing sections up to the third degree of difficulty to picturesque walking passages. Embarking from the Rifugio Comici Hut, the route leads towards Monte Popera, traversing the Busa di Dentro before ascending the Dezolt Wall in the second and third degree of difficulty to reach Cresta Zsigmondy. Following the ridge along the border between Alto Adige, Südtirol, and Veneto, the trek leads to the Mascabroni Bivouac. Negotiating between towers and rocky ledges, the ascent to the summit unfolds in a challenging manner. Given the demanding fitness requirements of the Cima Undici route, it’s advisable to either spend the night at Rifugio Comici or plan it as a two-day excursion with accommodation at the Mascabroni Bivouac. Strong sure-footedness is essential due to scree on the walking passages.
This route is part of the multi-day ascent “Sesto sundial“.
