Christian discovered his passion for climbing at the age of 9, when his uncle, Herbert Summerer (also a mountain guide at the Alpine School Tre Cime) took him up Cima Grande di Lavaredo. From 12 years of age he really got into sports climbing and later also Alpine climbing.

In the following years he devoted himself exclusively to sports and competition climbing where he notched up several outstanding successes (multiple Youth Italian Champion, sport climbing routes to 11- and 8c.). After graduating from high school he studied Geology in Innsbruck. In 2009 he completed his mountain guide training.
Climbing remains Christian’s passion and he considers it a privilege that he has been able to turn his hobby into his work. As a mountain guide he loves exploring the Dolomites in all seasons.
In addition to his work at the Alpine School Tre Cime Christian also works as an instructor and trainer of South Tyrolean mountain guides, South Tyrolean ski instructors and hiking guides. He also works part-time as a geologist.
Christian lives in Sesto with his partner and their two daughters.
