Cima Ovest – Zinnfiziert (VI+ 400m)

As the name ‘(Zinn)Infiziert’, that is ‘infected’, of the captivating alpine route suggests, it was initially conquered in 2020 by our skilled mountain guide Hannes Pfeifhofer and his climbing companion Diddi Niederbrunner. The German play on words cleverly combines ‘Zinne’ (peak) and ‘infiziert’ (infected) with the unwavering passion for climbing. This 370-meter route ascends the steep south face of the West Peak, featuring classic belaying. Comparable to the renowned Spigolo Giallo on Cima Piccola, ‘Infiziert’ captivates climbers with its southern exposure, considerable length, and delightful climbing sections. It represents a challenging 6th-grade route on the West Peak, typically showcasing favorable conditions.
