Cima Piccola North Face – Innerkofler (IV+ 420m)
The north face of Cima Piccola witnessed its inaugural ascent in 1890, led by the skilled Sesto mountain guide, Sepp Innerkofler. The free climbing stretch through the summit’s chimney offers exposed sections within an Alpine environment.
Sepp Innerkofler, accompanied by Veit Innerkofler and his client Ms. H. Helversen, pioneered this route. Legend has it that he ascended just below the summit without a safety rope during the initial exploration.
The route initially traverses the south face of Cima Piccola, reaching the north face saddle between Punta Frida and the summit’s tower. Subsequently, climbers ascend the north face through a network of cracks and chimneys until they reach the narrow peak. The descent unfolds on the west side through the designated abseil route. This classic climbing expedition guarantees a multifaceted Alpine adventure.
