The via ferrata high route that unites across borders in the Dolomites.

In via ferratas we cross one of the most beautiful sections of the Dolomites and stay overnight in mountain huts. The route runs largely along the front of the First World War and has now, a hundred years after the end of the war, been opened with the help of an EU project as a via ferrata peace trail. Because the whole tour is rather demanding, we offer you this 2nd part of the itinerary.

Programme:

Day 0 – Ascent to Rifugio Prati Croda Rossa
Meeting in Sexten, briefing, material check, ascent with the cable car to Rifugio Prati Croda Rossa

Day 1: Via Ferrata Strada degli Alpini
From Rifugio Prati Croda Rossa, we ascend via Anderteralpe to the Ferrata. Via this scenically impressive via ferrata, we reach the Rifugio Carducci.
about 900 meters of elevation gain – Difficulty B

Day 2: Around Cima Dodici – Via ferrata Severino Casara
From the hut, we circumnavigate Cima Dodici on the secluded “Ferrata Severino Casara ” (B/C). Subsequently, we traverse the easy via ferrata “Westlicher Sandebühel” to Rifugio Pian di Cengia.

Day 3: Via Ferrata Monte Paterno
After several solitary days, today we tackle the most famous via ferrata in the Dolomites. From the hut, we ascend via delle forcelle (B) to the summit of Monte Paterno. From there, we proceed via the ferrata Innerkofler (B) to Rifugio Locatelli Tre Cime.

Day 4: Via ferrata Toblin
From the hut, we ascend with light backpacks to the spectacular summit of Toblingerknoten. Subsequently, we hike back through Val Sasso Vecchio to Val Fiscalina and to the starting point. Descent to the valley.
About 300 meters of elevation gain – Difficulty B/C
