Ice Climbing in Riva di Campo Tures
Riva in Campo Tures (Rein in Taufers) is renowned as the heart of ice climbing in South Tyrol. The Reintal Valley offers a range of options, from easy beginner routes to extensive alpine icefalls. For the mountain guides of the Alpine School Dreizinnen, this valley holds a special place as it is where many of us took our initial steps with crampons.
The numerous touring possibilities include:
Angerer: Sunny ice climbing garden with a short ascent.
Jahrzahlwand: 200-metre waterfall with moderate difficulties, usually with good conditions.
Ursprungwasserfall: Icefall that can usually be climbed very early and very late in the season due to its height and exposure.
Franziskusfall: The classic in the valley, boasting a 5th-grade difficulty level in ice climbing.
Kofler between the walls: Spectacular line on steep granite walls.
