South Tyrol’s First Educational Ski Touring Route

In December 2022, the first skitouring educational tour was launched in Sexten, South Tyrol, perfect for all ski tourers eager to acquire essential techniques.

The journey commences at the “Dreizinnen-Skilift” station, ascending through a forest to the top station of the “Porzen Skilift” (a 530-meter uphill climb). The descent follows the ski slope back to the starting point.

This guided tour places emphasis on mastering proper ski touring ascent techniques, inversion techniques, fundamental risk management principles, and awareness of potential dangers in snowy terrain. Utilizing the avalanche search simulation station, the mountain guide will give you essential information on appropriate behaviour during an emergency.
