Via Ferrata Zandonella
The two variations of the Zandonella via ferrata stand out as the most challenging routes in the Sesto Dolomites.
The southern variant, known as ‘Zandonella’, and the recently renovated southeast route named ‘Circolo Est’ are both exposed and steep, offering breathtaking views of the Croda Rossa massif. Both routes lead to the magnificent Croda Rossa di Sesto, passing by Austrian positions from the First World War.
While the easier Croda Rossa via ferrata attracts many climbers from Sesto, the Zandonella route tends to be less frequented.
Note: The lengthy ascent demands good physical preparation and stamina.
This route is part of the multi-day ascent “Sesto sundial“.
